SUPERSTAR Michael Phelps was on point at the Maryland State Championships held in Annapolis, as he clipped his American record in the men's 200-yard fly.
Phelps clocked a scorching time of 1:39.65 to lower his previous national mark of 1:39.70 set at the 2006 American Short Course Championships.
arlier this weekend, Phelps set a lifetime best in the men's 200-yard IM with a time of 1:40.58. That time came up short of Ryan Lochte's American record of 1:40.08. He also turned in a time of 3:39.01 in the men's 400-yard IM.
